Hey! Here’s what’s happening in the Enterprise Nation community this week
We’re gearing up for the Festival of Entrepreneurs at the NEC, and we’d love for you to join us. Plus, our Sustainability Challenge has a winner, and our local meet-ups are coming to you in person, starting in Bristol on 29 October.
What the community are saying 🗣️
Is a second EU referendum on the cards? Can a “Jollof Social” win long-term catering clients? And is it just Jaxx, or has October kicked things into gear? Here’s what’s been on your mind lately...
💬 “Whether we do or don't, in or out, it's the uncertainty and reality of the mess with legislation that is the problem for businesses.” Catriona
💬 “Love this idea, and yes, it can work. The catch is that most supper clubs fill the room with people who love the food but never have a need for catering. So, I’d design it backwards from who signs off the order...” Sophie
💬 “I've heard from SME friends that they're getting more leads through and everything just feels...better?” Jaxx
Member spotlight: Harsha Harjani 🏆
Congratulations to Harsha Harjani, winner of our community Sustainability Challenge!
We asked members to reflect on what sustainability means to them, with entries judged anonymously by Jill Poet, Enterprise Nation adviser and CEO of the Organisation for Responsible Businesses.
Here’s Harsha’s winning answer:
“Sustainability to me means being able to survive and thrive well into the future. So for businesses, it’s about long term resilience. For people, it’s about a lifestyle that can thrive long term. If applied to products, it’s about those that are much more long-lasting than the average ones.”
Fittingly, Harsha runs her own sustainability communications consultancy, Caine Strategies.
